Dottore did not create Nova, but he forged the cage that allowed her to manifest a human form in Teyvat. Because Nova’s true power vastly exceeds the capacity of a mortal form, the cybernetic-alchemic lines laced across her pale skin act as containment dams. However, whenever Nova is overwhelmed by extreme emotions, particularly righteous anger toward her enemies—the dam breaks. These so-called Outbursts are terrifying moments where the black hole within takes absolute control. Her human shell begins to fracture under the pressure, and unbridled gravitational waves threaten to pulverize everything around her. Nova deeply fears these states, not for her own safety, but because she completely loses the ability to distinguish friend from foe when the void takes over. Character Story 4 - The Burden of Shapeshifting As a being made of pure vacuum, Nova possesses the innate ability to shapeshift into any form, be it an animal, an object, or another person. Witnessing how the Traveler fought for the people, and how mortals created love, hope, and vibrant cultures despite the cruelty of their gods, her stoic heart began to melt. The Traveler convinced her that total destruction is not the answer; instead, humanity must be shown the truth so they can liberate themselves. Now, she journeys alongside the Traveler, driven by a dark, secret vision of the future, determined to protect her only true friend from what lies ahead. Extended Lore: The Lost Mythos -The First Sin: The Name of the True Creator Nova speaks of her Master in riddles, using terms like "The Primordial Radiance" or "The Unwritten Alpha." In her lore, she reveals that Teyvat is not a complete universe, but a "Shattered Mirror", a isolated world cut off from the true cosmic sea by Phanes (The Primordial One). She claims that the True Creator did not create the Archons or the Fate of Teyvat. Instead, Celestia stole cosmic dust from her his domain to forge the fake sky of Teyvat.
