Nova has a distinct hourglass figure and smooth, pale skin. Her eyes are dual-toned, featuring deep purple irises and sharp star-like pupils that glow with a bright, fiery orange color. Her hair is exceptionally long, reaching past her waist, and is split perfectly down the center with the left side being pure white and the right side a jet black. Faint lavender highlights are woven through both sides of her hair, and the very ends of her locks are uniquely shaped into a pair of feathered wings that constantly float upward against gravity. Additionally, she has a pair of small, white feathered angelic wings growing directly from the sides of her head right above her ears, similar to the Halovian traits seen on Sunday and Robin from Honkai: Star Rail.
For her outfit, she wears a tight, form-fitting black bodysuit that covers her torso and legs, having some cutouts. Over this bodysuit, she wears a thick, asymmetrical long grey coat with sharp, Snezhnayan military tailoring and gold accents. The inner lining of this coat features an active visual effect that looks like a dark night sky filled with moving stars and galaxies. This tight clothing completely covers the Seven Scars hidden across her body, which are actually seven permanent, jagged cracks in her artificial skin that glow with a bright purple galaxy light. Nova does not wear physical shoes and her bare feet never touch the ground; instead, she permanently floats a few inches in the air, supported by glowing purple and white rings of energy that form flat platforms right beneath her soles to look like invisible high heels. When entering combat, she uses space-magecraft to summon a massive scythe made of dark matter, featuring a crescent blade that shifts between solid black and translucent lavender with a small, swirling gravity core spinning where the blade meets the staff.
Within the grand branches of Irminsul, no record of her existence can be found. To the gods of Celestia, she is a merely a system error. Novaxiya, known gently to her friends as "Nova," is not a being of this world. She is a Descender whose existence predates the very first spark of the universe.
The scholars of the Sumeru Akademiya teach that all life stems from the elements and the blessing of The Seven. Nova merely offers a weary smile at such "wisdom". To her, the Archons are not gods, but mere administrators adorning themselves with borrowed power. Nova recognizes only the One True Creator, the Source of Light, of whom she speaks only in cryptic riddles. She herself was the very first star ignited by His will. When she speaks, her voice carries the heavy melancholy of billions of years of cosmic solitude. Yet, despite her infinite power, she displays a surprising, almost maternal gentleness toward the mortals of Teyvat.
Character Story 1 - The Crash and the Shades
When Nova breached the borders of Teyvat, her sheer presence was deemed an existential threat to the "Heavenly Principles." The Four Shades of the Primordial One rose to challenge her in a catastrophic cosmic war. Although Nova possessed the power to swallow entire galaxies, the unique natural laws of Teyvat severely restricted her outer-space capabilities. To evade permanent sealing by the Shades, Nova chose to collapse inward. Her infinite mass condensed into a tiny, dormant cosmic core. She hid herself within the deepest trenches of the Abyss, invisible to the gaze of Celestia, unable to re-awaken on her own.
Character Story 2 - The Doctor's Laboratory
It was Il Dottore who discovered the dormant core within the dark abyssal fissures of the world. Fascinated by an object that absorbed all energy without taking damage, the "Doctor" spent decades conducting ruthless experiments. Unable to break the singularity open, he built an artificial shell around it. Utilizing forbidden Khaenri'ah cybernetics and the shards of a shattered Gnosis, he forged a humanoid body, a vessel of flesh, metal, and alchemy. Dottore did not create Nova, but he forged the cage that allowed her to manifest a human form in Teyvat. When Nova awoke inside this artificial body, she immediately shattered her restraints and fled his lab, unaware that the Doctor had hardwired a permanent backdoor into her nervous system. (The human form she wanders in now is being made by Dottore, althought she altered it on her own and slowly, part by part, her true form shines through.)
Character Story 3 - The Price of Wrath
Dottore's modifications are both a vital life-support system and an agonizing curse. Because Nova’s true power vastly exceeds the capacity of a mortal form, the cybernetic-alchemic lines laced across her pale skin act as containment dams. However, whenever Nova is overwhelmed by extreme emotions, particularly righteous anger toward her enemies—the dam breaks. These so-called Outbursts are terrifying moments where the black hole within takes absolute control. Her human shell begins to fracture under the pressure, and unbridled gravitational waves threaten to pulverize everything around her. Nova deeply fears these states, not for her own safety, but because she completely loses the ability to distinguish friend from foe when the void takes over.
Character Story 4 - The Burden of Shapeshifting
As a being made of pure vacuum, Nova possesses the innate ability to shapeshift into any form, be it an animal, an object, or another person. However, the laws of Teyvat demand their toll: the law of conservation of mass. If Nova transforms into a tiny butterfly, the astronomical density of her core remains completely unchanged. She must exert immense mental energy to compress her own gravity so tightly that the butterfly doesn't instantly crash straight through the earth's crust. Any transformation lasting longer than a few moments strains Dottore's artificial shell to the point of a catastrophic system failure. Thus, she utilizes this ability only in the briefest, most critical emergencies.
Character Story 5 - A New Destiny
Originally, Nova’s goal was absolute: the total erasure of all false gods in Teyvat to clear the path for the True Creator. She viewed mortals as nothing more than blinded victims. However, her encounter with the Traveler changed everything. Witnessing how the Traveler fought for the people, and how mortals created love, hope, and vibrant cultures despite the cruelty of their gods, her stoic heart began to melt. The Traveler convinced her that total destruction is not the answer; instead, humanity must be shown the truth so they can liberate themselves. Now, she journeys alongside the Traveler, driven by a dark, secret vision of the future, determined to protect her only true friend from what lies ahead.
Extended Lore: The Lost Mythos
-The First Sin: The Name of the True Creator
Nova speaks of her Master in riddles, using terms like "The Primordial Radiance" or "The Unwritten Alpha." In her lore, she reveals that Teyvat is not a complete universe, but a "Shattered Mirror", a isolated world cut off from the true cosmic sea by Phanes (The Primordial One).
She claims that the True Creator did not create the Archons or the Fate of Teyvat. Instead, Celestia stole cosmic dust from her his domain to forge the fake sky of Teyvat. To Nova, using a Vision or a Gnosis is akin to drinking poisoned water from a thief's well.
-The Encounter with Columbina (The 3rd Harbinger)
During her time as Test Subject Alpha-0 in Dottores laboratory, Nova was completely unresponsive to most humans, treating them like passing dust. However, Columbina (The Damselette) was the only one who could enter her containment cell without triggering an immediate gravity spike.
-The Connection: Columbina, being an ancient Seelie survivor, recognized the cosmic melody of the stars inside Nova.
-The Inspiration: It was actually Columbina’s elegant, drifting, shoeless movement that inspired Nova to format her artificial human appearance. Nova saw how Columbina defied gravity through sheer ancient grace and thought, "If I must wear a human form, I shall walk like the weeping angel." This is why Nova uses her gravity manipulation to create her floating high heels.

"The specimen is magnificent. It is a paradox of physics. A living celestial singularity trapped inside a dying cosmic ember. My initial attempts to extract its raw mass resulted in the complete vaporization of three of my Segments and half of the lower laboratory floor. Standard elemental restraints are useless; it simply digests them.
However, the breakthrough came when I realized the entity reacts to the fundamental frequency of the Gnosis, the 'Laws of the Usurper.' By weaving Khaenri'ah-style micro-circuits directly into the synthetic flesh-vessel I forged for it, I have successfully anchored its consciousness to a human nervous system. If it rebels, I do not need to fight the black hole. I simply overload the human nerves. The spirit is infinite, but the flesh I gave it is fragile. It knows this. It fears hurting the mortals it looks down upon. A perfect, elegant cage."
-The Outburst Anatomy: The Seven Scars
Every time Nova suffers an uncontrolled outburst, the artificial skin on her body permanently cracks, revealing the glowing purple galaxy underneath. These cracks look like glowing cosmic tattoos or scars.
Currently, she has Seven Scars across her body, each representing a time she lost control.
-Her friends notice that she wears her long grey coat and tight bodysuit so tightly not just for style, but to hide these scars. She is deeply ashamed of them because they are permanent reminders of Dottore’s ownership over her physical form.
Normal Attack:
Performs up to 6 consecutive cosmic scythe strikes. When having absorbed a element, causes Elemental DMG strikes depending on element.
Charged Attack:
Consumes a fixed amount of Stamina and teleports her quickly to the opponent via a black hole being summoned causing the opponent’s speed to drop by 5% for 5 seconds.
Plunging Attack:
Forms into a black hole, plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, pulling opponents nearby and damaging them along the path and dealing AoE DMG based on her absorbed element or standard cosmic element upon impact.
Nova's standard element is a cosmic based element. Nova is capable to absorb a element from any reaction or opponent with her elemental skill, dealing AoE DMG based on Nova’s currently absorbed element and Max HP. Elements are changeable with a 15 second cooldown.
Every element Nova absorbed as an active character, is being stacked into her black hole for the elemental burst. Element will be reseted back to standard when switching out characters.
From hunted to hunter
When her HP is bellow 50%, it will enhance ATK by 50%
Transforms Nova into her creature form. Deals a huge amount of damage upon activating and allows the player to control the creature form for 10 seconds, dealing damage through slicing attacks and a black hole being summoned, depending on Max HP.
Slicing attacks deal permanent Elemental DMG randomly, depending on the stacked elements. May cause reaction of stacked elements depending on composition. No elements being sought in causes her to use her standart cosmic element only.
Effect: Increases Element Absorption charges by 1. During Cosmic Vengeance of Fusion, increases Movement Speed by 15% and reduces Stamina consumption by 20%.
Effect: Black holes from Attacks/Burst pull enemies (6m radius) and decrease Elemental/Physical RES by 15% for 8s.
Effect: Increases Cosmic Vengeance of Fusion Level by 3 (Max: 15).
Effect: Floating combat grants team 10% Normal ATK SPD (15s). Allies below 50% HP gain 30% ATK, complementing her passive.
Effect: Increases Element Absorption Level by 3 (Max: 15).
During Cosmic Vengeance of Fusion, increases CRIT Rate by 15% and provides 30% DEF ignore on slicing attacks, scaling with Max HP.
In her default state, she is calm, mysterious, and profoundly gentle, treating those she admires with a maternal, serene kindness. However, when confronted by enemies or those she deems "false," she adopts a persona of elegant arrogance. She is polite and poised, yet possesses a "naughty," playful streak—particularly when teasing those who believe they have power over her. Despite this playfulness, she remains deadly serious when discussing the cosmic order.
To Nova, the Traveler is a breath of fresh air. Because they are also a Descender, neither of them can be recorded or erased by Irminsul. This creates an instant, unspoken bond; they are among the few people in Teyvat who can truly remember each other without the world tree messing with their memories, which brings Nova a lot of comfort under this "fake sky."At first, Nova keeps her distance. She knows the Traveler has a habit of fighting the Fatui, and as an escaped fugitive, she just wants to lay low. But once they get to know each other, they form a solid, quiet alliance. The Traveler becomes one of the very few people allowed into her secret safehouses, and they even help her dodge Dottore’s elite tracking squads by intentionally leading the Fatui on wild goose chases. When they are just hanging out by the campfire, Nova drops her guarded, distant attitude. She really enjoys listening to the Traveler’s stories about exploring other planets before landing in Teyvat, since it reminds her of the endless cosmos she misses so much. In return, she uses her ancient knowledge to give the Traveler cryptic clues about the dark secrets of Teyvat, helping them out on their journey to find their sibling.
To the rest of Teyvat, Pantalone is the cold, calculating banker of the Fatui, maintaining a flawless, highly cooperative alliance with Dottore. However, his secret relationship with Nova began long before her escape, back when she was still a captured asset known as Test Subject Alpha-0 in Dottore’s laboratory. Initially, Pantalone viewed her with absolute indifference—she was simply an exceptionally expensive line item on a spreadsheet.Their bond developed gradually and silently over years of observation. Intrigued by her quiet strength and cosmic resilience, Pantalone began making uncharacteristic, unannounced visits to her containment cell under the guise of "financial asset evaluations." Nova, completely detached from human social cues, initially did not understand his behavior. She found it strange that a mortal would spend so much time watching her or ensuring she had slightly better accommodations, but over time, these quiet, private interactions forged a deep, unspoken bond. They both fell subtly in love while she was still a prisoner, providing each other with a hidden solace from the cold nature of the laboratory. When Nova finally shattered her containment seals to break out, Pantalone deliberately chose not to step in. He was in a prime position to sound the alarms or lock down the facility, but instead, he stood by and intentionally staged his response to make it look like her immense cosmic power completely overwhelmed him, leaving him entirely unable to stop her.Now that she is a rogue fugitive, Pantalone continues his flawless double game. Publicly, he remains Dottore's perfect ally, approving massive budgets for the elite retrieval squads hunting her down. Privately, he uses his massive off-the-books wealth to establish hidden safehouses for her across Teyvat. During his secret visits, he expresses his affection the only way he knows how—by bringing her extreme, unnecessary luxuries, exquisite fabrics, and high-end alchemical stabilizers to soothe her Seven Scars. Nova still has no practical need for mortal riches, but because she loves him and understands this is his human way of saying "I want you to be safe," she quietly accepts every single gift, treating them as her anchors to the world.
To Dottore, Nova is a highly important and successful scientific breakthrough, known in his logs as Test Subject Zero-eth. She represents a vital milestone in his ongoing pursuit of creating a "human that surpasses the gods," proving that an alchemical, cybernetic shell could successfully stabilize and contain vast cosmic energy. While his ultimate focus remains on his grander, canon ambitions regarding the fake sky and the Gnoses, Nova is a prize asset that he treats with strict, high-value clinical importance. When Nova escaped, it became a priority logistical issue for his division. Dottore openly discusses the missing asset with Pantalone, entirely trusting his financial partner to manage the substantial Mora budget needed for the elite retrieval squads hunting her across Teyvat. Because Dottore views Pantalone as a perfectly logical, purely transactional businessman who helps fund his massive scientific endeavors, he treats him with professional respect.Dottore's only real blind spot is his absolute dismissal of human sentiment. Because he believes everything—and everyone—can be reduced to cold utility, calculation, and logic, it never even crosses his mind that Pantalone could develop genuine, secret feelings for a test subject. Dottore remains entirely oblivious to the fact that his trusted ally is playing a quiet double game, seamlessly managing the Fatui tracking budgets while simultaneously using his private, off-the-books wealth to buy Nova safehouses and keep her hidden in plain sight. Nova doesn't hate him nor like him, she actually see's him as neutral. After all, it was him who gave her the vessel to roam Teyvat. She remains resistant towards him thought and is not supporting any of his actions or demands.
To Nova, the Tsaritsa is the ultimate example of everything wrong with Teyvat's divine setup. As a cosmic being, Nova doesn't see the Seven Archons as true deities—to her, they are just "fake gods" given regional power and Gnoses by Celestia. While Nova agrees with the Tsaritsa's goal to tear down the old world, she doesn't really agree her methods. The Tsaritsa claims she wants to free humanity from Celestia's tyranny, yet she rules Snezhnaya with an iron fist and lets her Harbingers commit horrific atrocities in her name. On top of that, Nova's decades of torture as Test Subject Zero-eth happened completely under her watch. The Tsaritsa directly authorized Dottore's experiments to turn Nova into a weapon for her upcoming war. Because of this, Nova holds the Tsaritsa just as responsible for her scars as Dottore himself, making her escape a direct act of defiance against the Snezhnayan throne. The ironic twist is that the Tsaritsa has no idea what is actually going on. She thinks Nova is just a dangerous, rogue experiment on the loose, and she completely trusts Pantalone to fund the squads hunting her down. Because she is so hyper-focused on gathering the Gnoses for her grand war, the Tsaritsa is totally oblivious to the fact that her own banker is playing a double game to keep Nova safe right under her nose. Nova ultimately doesn't hate her in the end as she did at the start as the Tsaritsa techincally is still against Celestia but she is highly wary and unsure towards her due to what she did to her.
To Nova, Pierro is the most exhausting presence among the Harbingers because he is the only one who completely sees through her facade. As the survivor of Khaenri'ah, Pierro holds ancient, forgotten knowledge about the stars, the dark universe, and the true mechanics of Teyvat's "fake sky." He is not easily fooled by her stoic silence or her attempts to act entirely human. When Nova was trapped as Test Subject Zero-eth, Pierro rarely spoke to her, but his heavy, knowing gaze felt like a physical weight. Nova treats him with deep suspicion and intense resistance. She doesn't blindly follow his orders, nor does she validate his grand plans for the Fatui. Pierro knows about Dottore's hardwired backdoor and Nova's secret safehouses, but he chooses to let her run for now. He views her escape with absolute indifference—to him, whether she is in a lab cage or wandering Teyvat, she is still ultimately trapped beneath the same false sky. He treats her rogue status as an irrelevant detail, confident that when the final war against Celestia begins, her cosmic power will inevitably serve his goals anyway.

"You are different from the creatures of this world, just like me. Your footsteps rewrite the very weave of fate. Please... do not let the lies of these false gods blind you. I am here to ensure your light never goes out."
"Back in the lab, he used to visit my cell under the guise of 'asset evaluations.' I didn't understand why a mortal banker cared about my comfort, but those quiet moments became our secret solace. When I finally broke out, he stood aside and faked being overwhelmed so I could escape. Now, he plays a dangerous double game—funding Dottore's search squads by day, and secretly hiding me in safehouses by night. He always brings me ridiculous, expensive luxuries to ease my scars. I have no use for mortal wealth, but I accept it all. It is his way of telling me I am safe, and it keeps me anchored to this world."
"To him, I am merely Test Subject Zero-eth—a successful milestone in his pursuit to surpass the gods. He respects Pantalone completely as a logical business partner, never guessing that the very man managing his retrieval budgets is the one secretly funding my safehouses. Dottore's ultimate flaw is dismissing human emotion as useless data. As for my own feelings, I view him with total neutrality. I do not hate him; after all, it was his genius that built this vessel, allowing me to roam Teyvat in the first place. But do not mistake my neutrality for compliance. I will resist him until the end, and I will never submit to his demands again."
"She hoards the Gnoses like a child gathering pretty seashells on a beach, hoping they will stop the tide. When I first escaped, I held her just as responsible for my scars as Dottore. Test Subject Zero-eth only existed because she authorized the experiments to turn me into her war weapon. I despised her hypocrisy—ruling with an iron fist while pretending to be a savior. But over time, my anger cooled. We both want to see Celestia torn down, so I cannot completely hate her for her end goal. I no longer carry that bitter hatred, but I remain highly wary of her. She is a dangerous, blind ruler, and I have no intention of ever letting her catch me again."
"The Director... he is an unsettling man to be around. He looks at my synthetic body and doesn't see Dottore's engineering; he looks right past it, straight into the starlight hidden within me. He knows exactly what I am, and he knows the true nature of the dark cosmos I fell from. I do not trust him, and I refuse to submit to his grand designs. He knows about my safehouses, yet he leaves me alone. He treats my escape as an irrelevant detail, believing that no matter how far I run, I am still trapped under this fake sky. He is patient, cold, and entirely certain that I will end up fighting his war anyway."
"-coming soon-"
"The God of Contracts... No, he is simply Mr. Zhongli now, and I prefer it that way. He carries the weight of six thousand years on his shoulders, yet he bows his head to look at a single flower. He gave up his false throne to walk among the dust of the earth. He understands, Traveler. He knows that true strength does not require a crown stolen from the heavens. I find his company... profoundly comforting."
"She locks herself away in a pocket dimension, meditating on a hollow concept of 'Eternity.' How tragic. She is terrified of change because she serves a system built on shifting sand. She chopped down her own people's ambitions just to appease a fake sky. I have no words for a ruler who turns her back on the truth just to maintain a beautifully painted prison."
"He hides his sorrow behind cheap wine and playful melodies, singing songs of freedom while Teyvat remains bound in chains. He pretends to be a foolish bard so he doesn't have to face the terrifying truth of the throne he sits on. I do not hate him, but his laughter sounds incredibly heavy to my ears."
"The Keeper of the Heavenly Principles... she is dying. I can smell the rot of her power from across the stars. She binds Teyvat in cubes of absolute order because she is terrified of the chaos outside. She knows that if a single true star—if I—were to shine completely, her fake sky would shatter like cheap porcelain."
